In November 1999, eight members formed the Hindu Cultural League. We identified that there was a need to promote Indian Arts & Culture within the community and to undertake community upliftment projects (Seva work).

We realized that we needed to form a non-profit organisation to provide a service to our community.

In June 2000 we commenced our Music & Dance Academy, where classes are held for Indian classical dance (Bhartha natyam), various Indian instruments (Tabla, Harmonium) and vocal training.

In addition, we undertook several community upliftment projects for the benefit of the underprivileged youth, the aged, H.I.V. homes & mentally & physically impaired children.

The funding of the Hindu Cultural League is dependent on donations from the public, fees paid by the students of the Music & Dance Academy and our annual fundraising Dinner/Dance.
